Baby apricots

The weather continues to be wet, windy, cold and generally unpleasant but luckily this hasn’t affected the apricot trees which are busily forming fruit.

Again the stage the two trees have  reached is quite different.

This is the fruit on the tree which flowered first. It is called a Reale d’Imola apricot:

And this is the fruit on the tree which flowered second. It is called a Paviot apricot:

So far it would seem that the Reale d’Imola is a heavy cropper every other year, producing literally nothing in the off years, while the Paviot gives slightly less abundant fruit but does it every year.
