Corncockle

This is one of the wild flowers, grown from seed and nurtured by Clive, which has taken off in the garden.

It inspires both sympathy and caution because, while now almost extinct due to having been eradicated from crops by herbicides, it’s also poisonous.

I love its style of growing – a single flower on top of a stalk.
