Wild cherries

Unlike the cultivated cherries, we seem to have quite a good crop of wild ones.

They’re very small and have a disproportionately large stone.

They’re also extremely sour even when ripe.

But there’s nothing quite so refreshing on a hot day as that tiny burst of acidity on the tongue.
