Spello and English conversation

Spello

This is a photograph of Spello, one of the most picturesque hill towns in these parts.

It isn’t the best angle, from the other side of the railway with modern houses in the foreground, but it was the one we saw it from as we came back from Santa Maria degli Angeli (Saint Mary of the Angels) where I had an appointment this morning to have my spine looked at.

As I’d feared, the appointment wasn’t helpful. It mostly consisted of the consultant trying out his English on me – a curious situation as I ended up not knowing what language to speak in.

Clive said I should have made a parting shot: “That’s 25 Euros, please,” charging him for the English conversation lesson!
