Home > Gardening > Peaches

It’s hard to believe that the 2 photos below are taken on the same day and that as far as I know, both peach trees are of the same type.

The peaches I started to pick today

Peaches that are nowhere near ready to pick

It’s always the same tree that has ripe fruit first.

The orientation and exposure of the 2 trees is very similar, although it’s possible they have access to different amounts of water according to what their roots have managed to find in the limestone beneath.

Apart from a few peck-marks, the peaches are usually in good condition (juicy yellow flesh, more-or-less free-stone).

There’s a fair few of them so it’s handy to have the crop staggered a bit.
