The best pears

The pears that were ready

These are the only pears I eat raw and that’s because they’re half way to a nashi pear.

I’m actually eating one now as I write this post, trying not to get juice on the keyboard.

They grow on a tiny little tree which I reckon must be some kind of a nashi hybrid.

Most of the pears ‘came away in my hand’ (my criterion for ripeness) the day before yesterday.

The rest are still on the tree, needing to ripen a bit more.
