Mimosa bush

Mimosa bush

I caught sight of this well-balanced mimosa bush just outside the pharmacy where we bought medicine for Galileo yesterday, and took a photo on the cellphone.

The little pom-pom flower-heads are still greenish.

They will be yellow and fluffy by March 8th, when little sprigs are plucked to give to women on the ‘Festa della Donna’ or International Women’s Day.

Our local butcher dived out of his shop to give me a sprig once. I think he was hoping to get our custom back after his outlandish pricing of some bespoke sausages.
