Such a tiny thing

Perfect camouflage for an oak trunk

It’s sad that the best view I get of the birds around us is when they’re dead.

This treecreeper flew into our patio window today and broke its neck.

Alive, it would be a tiny brown silhouette against the light, creeping up the trunks of the oak trees and flying down to repeat the manoeuvre.

      I thought it was a flake of bark when I first saw it …
