Rabbit, lizard and spider

Rabbit, lizard and spider

There’s a bucket of water, drained from the irrigation system, which I left for the dogs to drink from. Today I found a lizard desperately treading water in it. It took the creature some considerable time to warm up on my hand, but finally it had enough energy to scuttle away. Galileo was interested, so while I held onto him, I looked to see where the lizard went.

It made a beeline for our ornamental pottery rabbit, which seems to be listening intently to its request for sanctuary! As I watched, a spider decided to join them …

The acorns are typical. At this time of year they ping and thwack onto the roof tiles and the car at all hours of day and night.
