Clary or sage?

Flower with no name

Flower with no name

This flower has been growing on the grassy path between the orchard and the olive grove just where the mowing tractor turns. I was afraid it might have got eradicated, but a specimen turned up today, in full bloom.

I’d always thought it was Clary Sage, but when I checked the name on the internet, up came a plant which looks quite different (a valuable herb, in fact, that cures just about anything from menstrual pains to insomnia).

If it’s not Clary Sage, what is it?

I looked it up in a prestigious flower book which gives Latin names, and thought it looked like Salvia Pratensis.

Cross-checking the common name for this, I found it as Meadow Clary on one website, and Meadow Sage on another. But nowhere Meadow Clary Sage!

All I can say is – what’s in a name?

C’est bien la meme couleur, c’est vrai, mais la forme de la fleur est plutot comme l’ortie blanche.
