Full marks for effort
No-one could accuse our strawberry plants of not trying.
Whether in the ground or a tub (as here in the photo), they continue without ceasing to produce flowers and hard, whiskery green strawberries that never ripen.
It’s not their fault the days are too short and the sun too weak to turn the fruits of their labour into a succulent prize.
As long as they don’t get discouraged and give up before conditions improve.
