Heavy-footed

Where to put one's feet?

Where to put one’s feet?

Further back between the gabions (cages of rocks) and the variegated silverberry bush (leaves just visible) there’s a beautiful but very cramped yellow rose which needs pruning badly.

The bush should be cut back as well, plus some branches of the cotoneaster, to give the rose some breathing room.

But I refuse to perform this errand of mercy right now because I’d tread on the numerous clumps of primroses.

Everything always seems to make a casualty out of something else.
