This creature turned up next to Florence on the living room floor the other night.
It was about four centimetres long and both menacing-looking and rather beautiful.
After taking a quick photo, I got out my scorpion-removal kit which is basically a dustpan and brush, and put it quite a way into the garden.
Angela, our Albanian cleaning lady, always laughs at me: “She won’t even kill a scorpion.” She herself stomps on them.
But I don’t see the need. The sting of these ones is similar to that of a wasp, apparently, and no more dangerous.
As long as they don’t eat too many of the spiders which are supposed to be eating the flies!
