Strimming creates casualties as a matter of course.
Sadly my orange pom-pom bush was one – cut off at ground level. Apparently it looked like the hawkweed in the photo.
I have to admit the shrub was a bit thin and meagre, plus I hadn’t planted it in a very good spot.
Now that it’s no longer in the way, I can sit with my back propped against a willow tree, my feet out in front, and look down a meadow slope towards Valtopina.
Yesterday I did just that, and ate a Cadbury Creme Egg as well to try and cheer myself up.
